Local community experience
Our eco-discovery begins at 9:30 AM at Bang Rong Village, a traditional Muslim community on Phuket’s east coast. Our first stop is the Baan Bang Rong Agricultural Preservation Tourism Group, where we’ll learn about eco-friendly practices that sustain the local way of life. You’ll have the chance to participate in community activities, such as crafting a patch bag, a signature handicraft of the village.
Next, we visit a pineapple farm to taste fresh, locally grown pineapple, followed by a fascinating rubber tapping demonstration, showcasing one of Phuket’s most important industries. We then immerse ourselves in a coconut workshop, where you’ll see how coconuts are harvested and used, before enjoying a cooking demonstration of the famous Thai dessert Khanom Tom.
Lunch will be served in a local community kitchen, offering an authentic taste of the region’s cuisine. Afterward, we’ll take a long-tail boat to explore a crab conservation project, learning about sustainable practices and participating in a crab release near a mangrove forest. The tour wraps up with some relaxation at Koh Pae, a peaceful spot to unwind before returning to the community and then back to your hotel.
